Dresses, dresses and more dresses!!!

Shopping for a wedding dress can be a very fun experience OR stressful!! While I was shopping for my dress I experienced a little of both. The first couple of times I had so much fun, I even found a couple of dresses that I thought I could come back to and possibly make my purchase. Well last week I went back to David's and tried on a few styles including my top pick... and I felt NOTHING! I seriously was like eh.. So I tried on like ten more dresses and started getting stressed and disappointed. Well I don't know whether this was a good idea or not, but right after the appointment at David's I had one at Alfred Angelo. I went in positive but not as excited as I probably should have been since I had just tried on about 10 dresses and found nothing. The first 40 minutes of the appointment went ok, I tried on some dresses that I loved the way they looked but didn't really like on me and I was a little disappointed when they only had one of my favorites in a very small size and I wasn't able to try it on. So the consultant showed me a different one she thought I might like, when looking at the book I saw one that I thought was really cute and asked her if I could also try that one on. I tried a couple more and then the one I asked for, just looking at it on the hanger made me smile.

I loved the material it was made of, I loved how the fabric felt "heavy" and I loved the details on it. We put it on and went out, I could tell this was a good one because my mom would not stop smiling. This was a good sign since he had been quiet most of the day, I looked in the mirror and I LOVED this dress and the way it looked on me. I LOVE it!! My sister loved it too! The consultant quickly picked up on this and grabbed a veil  to complete the look, this was the magical moment, my mom was at the verge of tears and so was I, this is when I knew this was MY dress. I was so in love, I didn't want to try any other dress on, I didn't want to even look at more dresses, I found MY dress!!

So, now that I've found my dress we need to get the bridesmaids!! This process is just fun! I love playing around on the Alfred Angelo website with the colors and figuring out which dresses could work. I saved a couple of pictures and these are my top picks:

My colors as you can see will be pink and grey, my bridesmaids will be wearing pink with grey accents and my maid of honor will be wearing grey with pink accents. Right now I'm playing with the idea of letting the girls pick different styles as long as they can be the same color, fabric and length BUT I think deep down I want it to be all one style. My favorites are #3, #4 and #5. I LOVE the way those look!! I guess we'll see how they look on them, right now we are looking for a time that we are all available so we can go try them on. Hopefully we'll find something we can all agree on, except for my maid of honor who is in Puerto Rico and we'll have to look at the pictures.

And while we're in the subject of dresses, I'll show you our flower girl dress that I think is SO adorable!
We will be ordering this from Laurie's Tutu Boutique! I love her work!

So, for the bridesmaids, which one do you like the most?

Another DIY!!

So I found this tutorial for cascade earrings and it seemed easy enough to make so I decided to give it a try. I'm really happy about the way they came out and they saved me tons! These will be for my bridesmaids and my junior bridesmaid.

One of my first DIY projects!

I initially started to make these for my bridesmaids. I figure they could wear them while we were getting ready or during the reception after all the pics are taken care of. I loved the way they came out and decided to make some for myself too!

My colors are pink and grey so I made the girls' in those colors.
And these are mine :)

I'm very happy with the way they came out! Especially since they sell for about $15 each online and I made the for about $4 each!
